The access to the crown of the statue of liberty was stopped due to the terrorists attack on September 11, 2001. In a press release, the safety and the security department announced the reopening of the crown after seven and half years. Enrry to the crown was closed due to the difficulty it could create in evacuating the people from the crown in case of any terrorist’s attacks. The staircase to the crown is a double helix type which is very difficult to be evacuated. The statue of liberty is one of the best monuments which was gifted by France to the United States. The structure welcomes large number of tourists, visitors and also the other people from all over the world. In a new attempt to allow entry to the crown, only ten people will be allowed to enter the crown at one go. Latelythe visitors have been allowed to visit the remaining parts of the statue of liberty. People would get to cherish the beauty of the statue and view from the crown from now on with these new measures taken by government.
